Police in Greater Bushenyi are investigating a shocking and grisly murder in which a well-known businessman, Abias Asiimwe, was found burnt and dismembered at a lodge in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi District. According to a police statement from Greater Bushenyi’s Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Tayebwa Apollo, Asiimwe was last seen on April 18, 2026, at Kashenyi Trading Centre. He was said to have headed to a nearby lodge, but he never returned. His family became increasingly concerned and reported his disappearance to the police the following day. In response, police launched an immediate search, working alongside local residents in an effort to locate him.
The search led to a devastating find. Asiimwe’s burnt and dismembered body was discovered at the lodge, leaving the investigators shaken by the gruesome scene. Following the discovery, seven individuals, including a prime suspect, were arrested in connection with the crime.
