Police have arrested 27 suspects during intelligence-led night operations carried out in Kabalagala and Katwe as efforts to crack down on suspected criminal activities continue.
In Kabalagala, the operation was conducted at about 2:00am on September 3, 2026, in Kamwanyi Zone, Kabalagala Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala District. The operation led to the arrest of two male suspects.

Police said a search conducted on the suspects resulted in the recovery of a hammer, a bent knife and suspected opium. The items were reportedly found in their possession during the night operation.
The two suspects were subsequently charged with being found wandering at night while in possession of dangerous weapons and being in possession of narcotic substances.
Meanwhile, a separate operation was conducted by Police in Katwe at about 1:00am on the same day. The operation covered areas of Masajja and Nyanama in Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District.
According to Police, the Katwe operation resulted in the arrest of 25 suspects. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt groups believed to be involved in criminal activities in the area.
Police said the operations will continue as security teams work to identify, disrupt and dismantle criminal gangs operating within the affected areas.
The night operations are aimed at improving security and protecting residents, particularly in areas where criminal activities are suspected to be taking place. Police have also urged members of the public to remain alert and cooperate with security authorities by providing information that can help prevent and fight crime.
