Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan, has died.
Hafidh passed away at 8:00am on September 7, 2026, at Emilio Mzena Memorial Hospital in Zanzibar following a heart condition.
The death was officially announced by Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi, who extended condolences to President Samia, the bereaved family and the people of Tanzania.
Funeral arrangements are underway in Kizimkazi, Zanzibar.
