The race for the Speakership of Uganda’s 12th Parliament is already gaining momentum following claims that President Yoweri Museveni and Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba have endorsed Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth for the powerful parliamentary position.
According to the Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), the two influential leaders have thrown their support behind Jacob Oboth-Oboth, signaling growing confidence in his leadership abilities and political experience. The announcement has quickly sparked debate within political circles, with many now viewing Oboth-Oboth as a strong contender for the Speaker’s seat in the upcoming 12th Parliament.
Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth, who recently served as Defence Minister, has been a key figure within Uganda’s political and government structures for several years.
