Kampala Metropolitan Police successfully rescued a seven-year-old girl who had been kidnapped, bringing relief to her family and the community. The young girl, identified as Natukunda Precious, had been taken from Galabi Village in Namataba Town Council, Mukono District. Her disappearance on 27th April 2026 caused fear and concern, but the quick response from police gave hope that she would be found safe.
According to reports, the suspect, Masaba Ivan Kutosi, allegedly kidnapped the child. After the girl’s mother reported the case, police officers immediately began searching for her. Their fast action and coordination showed strong commitment to protecting the public, especially vulnerable children.
On 28th April 2026, joint police teams carried out an operation in Bweyogerere. Their efforts paid off when they tracked down the suspect in Kasubi Centre. After his arrest, he led officers to Equator Guest House, where the missing girl was found. Thankfully, she was rescued safely, ending what could have been a tragic situation.
The police also arrested the guest house manager, Nangobi Anna, to help with ongoing investigations. Authorities believe she may have important information about the case. In addition, a mobile phone believed to have been used by the suspect was recovered, which could provide more evidence.
This successful rescue highlights the importance of quick reporting and strong police response. It also sends a warning to criminals that such acts will not go unpunished. The community has expressed gratitude to the police for their dedication and bravery in ensuring the safe return of the young girl.
