Police in Kira Division are investigating a suspected murder after the discovery of a decomposed body believed to be that of 52-year-old Naziwa Oliver, a resident of Kito ‘A’ in Kirinya, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District. The case came to light on April 28, 2026, when relatives of the victim reported her missing since October 2025. The long period of disappearance raised alarm, prompting authorities to take immediate action.
On May 4, 2026, police conducted a search at the residence of the suspects and found the body in a locked room. Clothing found at the scene was identified as belonging to Naziwa Oliver. Two suspects, including Nanyonjo Rose, a biological relative of the deceased, were arrested to assist with the ongoing investigation. The scene was carefully processed, statements were recorded, and the body was taken to City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects were allegedly operating a cult-like group that discouraged members from seeking medical care or performing proper burials. This practice appears to have contributed to the tragic outcome. Authorities are urging the public to avoid engaging in or forming illegal cults, warning that such groups pose serious threats to life and will face strict legal action.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding the death of Naziwa Oliver. The community remains shocked, with neighbors expressing concern over the dangers of secretive and harmful practices.
