Dear Mzee, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa,
Dear Brother Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, CDF,
And my dear fellow Ugandans,
I, Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza, Bukono County MP-elect, write with a heart full of gratitude, relief, and renewed fighting spirit.
Today, I proudly congratulate you, Your Excellency, the CDF, and all patriotic Ugandans for the brave and decisive fight you have waged against corruption beginning right inside Parliament itself. Thank you, Mzee, and thank you, my brother General MK, for standing firm and refusing to let the image of our Parliament and our beloved country be destroyed by a few individuals. Your leadership has saved the dignity of the nation.
I feel profoundly relieved by the bold decision of the Patriotic League of Uganda to withdraw its earlier support for the former candidates. This is a great and historic step forward in our collective war against corruption.
But we must not rest. Not even for a moment. We shall continue until this vice is completely wiped out from every corner of Uganda.
At all material times, I knew deep in my heart that the President would never let us down. It was only a matter of time and now he has delivered. I pray that every single shilling stolen from government coffers is fully accounted for and that all those involved are brought to book without fear or favour.
I caution all Members of Parliament and the general public: do not interfere with the Government’s fight against corruption. Do not aid or abet the wrong elements. Let those who have sinned pay for their sins. Once you are identified as corrupt, you will face the full wrath of the law and the people.
These corrupt persons may act in teams, but let them know this: God knows all. Aluta continua! There is no stopping until corruption is completely defeated.
Once again, I thank you, Mzee, and my brother General MK for not letting us down. I pray that you continue to fight even harder, because we know that both the corrupt and corruption itself always tend to fight back. But the harder they fight, the harder we shall fight and together we shall win this war decisively.
This new term has begun with hope, courage, and real action. Uganda is rising!
God bless you, Mzee.
God bless Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
God bless Uganda.
With deepest gratitude, loyalty and unbreakable resolve,
Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza
Bukono County MP-elect
