President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who also doubles as the Commander In Chief (CIC) has decided to add more UPDF top officers in Uganda Police Force to fill the vacancies of Directors, Spyreports has exclusively learnt.According to security sources, President Museveni declined to renew the Contracts of police Directors for close to five months now. “The President decided to deploy UPDF officers in police as directors to help in curbing down crimes which have put the Nation on tension,” Says a security source.
The source adds that some retired UPDF Brig.Generals and Colonels with huge experience in fighting crimes will soon take over the offices of Police Directors. “Police officers who are out of offices due to expired contracts are now living under serious fear and tension because their chances of coming back are heading to Negative with deployment of UPDF officers,”Reveals a senior police chiefs adding that some Directors had hopes of returning soon.Another source says the deployment of Army to police was agreed in a recent security meeting which was chaired by the Commander in Chief himself. “Names of UPDF officers to be deployed in police were selected and will be sent to various security teams for vetting and the deployment message will be issued,” Says another top insider. He however declined to reveal to us the Names of selected UPDF officers. “This is a security matter so we cannot tell you the names before the President confirms them. It is against our professional but after confirming them, you will know their particulars,” the Source adds. Some of the police officers who are now on Katebe pending the renewal of the Contracts include AIGP Moses Kafero Kabugo former Director of Human Resource Development, AIGP Bamunoba Ubaldo, former Director CPC,AIGP David Waiswa Ssengendo Former Director Counter Terrorism, AIGP Hadijah Namutebi former Director welfare,Production and Sports among others. The list will add to several UPDF officers who are already deployed in Police as Directors and they include Maj.General Christopher Damulira Director In charge of Crime Intelligence,Maj.General (Retired) Jesse Kamunanwire Director Human Resource Administration and Maj Tom Magambo the Director for Crime Investigations.
