The Government of Uganda has announced important changes in the country’s judiciary leadership. According to a press release from the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) under the State House, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed new senior officials to key judicial positions. These appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the justice system and improve the administration of courts in the country.
In the latest changes, Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief Justice of Uganda. His name has already been forwarded to Parliament of Uganda for approval, as required by the law. Once confirmed, he will take on one of the highest roles in the country’s judiciary, helping to oversee the functioning of courts and ensuring justice is delivered fairly.
At the same time, Her Worship Agnes Alum has been appointed as the new Chief Registrar. In this important role, she will be responsible for managing court records, supporting judicial operations, and ensuring that the administrative side of the judiciary runs smoothly and efficiently across the country.
The announcement was made through the Presidential Press Unit based at State House Uganda in Kampala. The press release emphasized that these appointments reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening judicial leadership and improving service delivery in the justice system.
