Must read

Police in Bulukyeke Police Station, Bududa District, are investigating a serious incident in which a senior UPDF officer, Brigadier General Nambale James, is alleged to have assaulted police officers while they were on duty. The incident, which is said to have taken place on the evening of 23rd June 2026, has been recorded under CRB 111/2026 and has drawn attention in the Elgon Region.

According to the incident report, the victims are identified as No.40550 D/CPL Olar David, a 40-year-old officer in charge of records at Bulukyeke Police Station, and No.75355 D/C Nakami Rebecca, a female officer attached to the crime intelligence unit. Both officers were reportedly carrying out their normal duties when the confrontation occurred at around 7:40 PM.

It is alleged that Brigadier General Nambale James arrived at the police station accompanied by his bodyguards. He is said to have called out D/CPL Olar David and ordered him outside. Reports indicate that when the officer approached the General in a respectful manner, the situation quickly escalated. The General allegedly grabbed him by the collar, threw him to the ground, and cocked a pistol while accusing the police of failing to properly handle cases involving his relatives.

The report further states that when D/C Nakami Rebecca attempted to record the incident for documentation, the General allegedly turned aggressive towards her. He is said to have slapped her, confiscated her mobile phone, and ordered her to delete the footage she had captured. Up to the time of reporting, the phone had not been returned.

D/CPL Olar David reportedly sustained injuries on his knees during the alleged scuffle, while D/C Nakami Rebecca was left distressed after losing her phone and being physically assaulted. The officers were later examined and issued with PF3 forms, and statements were recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police in Bulukyeke Police Station state that senior officers, including the D/CID/O and DPC, were informed immediately after the incident and guided the formal recording of the case. The matter was officially entered under Bulukyeke CRB 111/2026 for further investigation.

The report also claims that this is not the first time the same senior military officer has had confrontations at Bulukyeke Police Station. It is alleged that he has previously been involved in similar disputes, though no formal disciplinary action had been taken before this incident.

The incident reportedly happened in the presence of civilians who had come to seek services at the station. Some of them are said to have felt threatened by the scene, raising concern about safety and order within the police station environment.

Police say more details will be released as investigations continue into the alleged assault, threats, and confiscation of property. The case remains sensitive given the involvement of a senior military figure and its implications for relations between security agencies in the region.
