Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that a demonstration will be held at the Turkish Embassy on September 18, saying the protest will take place “in full force.”
In a post shared on Twitter/X, Muhoozi said Hon. Fadhil would be in charge of the demonstration. He also directed the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to ensure that the planned protest is properly organised.
“PLU better do a good job,” Muhoozi said, while making it clear that he does not intend to change his position this time.
The General went further to issue a strong warning, saying that his order would remain in place and that Turkish agents who make statements contrary to his position could face arrest.
“My order will not change this time. Instead we will arrest ANY Turkish agent who says anything different!” he posted.
The announcement has drawn attention because of the strong language used by Muhoozi and the reference to Turkish agents. His statement suggests that the September 18 demonstration could attract significant attention and potentially create tensions around the Turkish Embassy.
