Teddy Anyuk Osire, a leader from Orungo, is asking farmers to make good use of the first rains. She says this is the right time to start planting crops so they can grow well and give good harvests.
Speaking to people in her area, Osire said, “The rains are here. Don’t wait. Start planting now.” She explained that early planting helps crops grow strong and healthy, which means farmers can get more food and money later.
Many farmers in the area depend on farming to feed their families and earn a living. Osire knows that weather can be hard to predict, but she believes that planning early can make a big difference. She encouraged farmers to clear their gardens, prepare their tools, and use good seeds.
She also asked local leaders and government workers to support farmers with advice and help. “Farming is our future,” she said. “If we work hard now, we will all benefit later.”
