Heroes Day Message From Eng. Jonard Asiimwe, Aspirant For NRM Vice Chairperson Western Uganda

Must read

On this Heroes Day, Eng. Jonard Asiimwe, the NRM Chairman for Hoima City and a respected energy sector professional, has called on Ugandans to reflect not only on the past, but on the responsibility of the present.

In his Heroes Day message, Eng. Asiimwe praised Uganda’s past heroes for their courage and commitment, but added that today’s generation must now rise to become heroes of progress, innovation, and service. “The heroes we celebrate today gave us freedom,” he said. “Now we must use that freedom to build a stronger, smarter, and more united Uganda.”

Eng. Asiimwe brings a rare combination of technical expertise, political leadership, and community involvement. With over 10 years of experience in Uganda’s oil, gas, and infrastructure sectors, he has contributed to national projects such as the Tilenga Quarry in Buliisa and Kabaale International Airport in Hoima.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Oil and Gas Stakeholder Engagement and holds an Executive Master’s in Oil and Gas Governance. Through his company, Jonard Conglomerate Investments Ltd, and the Jonard Development Foundation, he has supported youth skilling, industrial awareness, and ideological education.

In politics, Eng. Asiimwe has served as the NRM Parliamentary Flag Bearer for Hoima East City Division (2022–2026), and is a strong voice in Bunyoro’s grassroots mobilization efforts. His bid for NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) is driven by his belief in disciplined leadership, scientific resource management, mindset change, and revitalized party structures.

“As we honor our heroes, we must also prepare ourselves to be heroes in our own way,” he said. “That means showing leadership where we are, whether in classrooms, on farms, in offices, or in Parliament.”

His message is clear: Uganda needs leaders who understand both people and policy. His call this Heroes Day is not just to remember but to act. To be the builders of today and the heroes of tomorrow.

Happy Heroes Day, Uganda! May we all be inspired to serve.
