People First!! The Message Behind Hon. Mukasa’s 2026 Campaign

Must read

In a time when many leaders are seen only during campaigns, Hon. Joseph Mukasa has remained close to the people. For over 20 years, he has worked directly with communities in Makindye-Sabagabo. He understands the daily challenges people face bad roads, poor drainage, lack of medicine in clinics, youth unemployment, and struggling schools. These are not just complaints he has heard. They are problems he has lived through, walked alongside, and worked hard to solve.

Now, in a bold and hopeful move, Hon. Joseph Mukasa has officially declared his intention to contest for Member of Parliament for Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality in 2026 under the National Unity Platform (NUP). His campaign is built on four strong promises: People First, Service, Equity, and Transformation. These are not just words. They represent a lifetime of action and commitment to real change.

Joseph Mukasa has already impacted thousands of lives through his organization, HELP Uganda. As Executive Director, he has helped young people and women gain skills in tailoring, hairdressing, baking, and other trades. Many of these individuals now run their own small businesses and are supporting their families. His work has lifted communities out of poverty, giving people not just skills but hope.

His experience working with international organizations like USAID, CDC, and the World Bank has given him the skills to manage projects and bring resources into the community. These partnerships show that Hon. Mukasa is not just passionate about change he knows how to make it happen. His leadership is practical, not theoretical.

In his manifesto, Hon. Mukasa promises to fight for better roads and proper drainage to prevent floods and make transport easier. He also pledges to improve health care by ensuring that public clinics have medicine and trained staff. Education will also be a priority, with support for public schools and programs to keep children in class. He also wants to empower women and the youth, support small businesses, and create a cleaner, safer environment for all.

One thing that stands out about Joseph Mukasa is his belief in listening to the people. He has promised to hold regular town hall meetings so that residents can speak directly to their MP. He believes that leadership should not be hidden in offices, but present in communities.

This is not his first time contesting. He previously ran for the same seat between 2011 and 2016. Even though he did not win, he did not walk away. He continued serving through Rotary and his NGO. His love for the people has always come before politics, and that’s what makes his leadership different. He serves not for position but for purpose.

Hon. Joseph Mukasa says, “Makindye-Sabagabo deserves dignity, equity, and real transformation. I will be your voice in Parliament, not my own.” These are the words of a leader who is not seeking power for himself but for the people. He is promising transparent, honest leadership and stands firmly against corruption and political handouts. His vision is for a fair and prosperous future where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.

The people of Makindye-Sabagabo are ready for change. They are ready for a leader who understands them, walks with them, and works for them. Hon. Joseph Mukasa is that leader. His hands have already built; now his voice is ready to speak on behalf of all.

Vote Hon. Joseph Mukasa for MP, Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality – 2026.
People First. Service. Equity. Transformation.
