This morning, the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Egyptian Police, led by Brigadier General Ahmed Youssry Mohamed Hashem. The delegation, consisting of six senior officials, paid a courtesy call on the Director of CID, AIGP Tom Magambo, during their ongoing country visit to the Uganda Police Force.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to engage in meaningful discussions on issues of mutual interest, particularly focusing on enhancing coordination in criminal investigations. The officials shared insights, experiences, and best practices to strengthen collaboration between the two police forces. Both parties expressed a strong commitment to deepening bilateral ties and improving the effectiveness of investigative operations across their respective countries.
This visit is part of a broader effort by law enforcement agencies in Africa to build stronger networks, exchange knowledge, and promote safer communities through international cooperation. The discussions underscored the importance of teamwork and information sharing in tackling complex crimes, from organized criminal networks to cross-border threats.

By fostering close partnerships, Uganda and Egypt aim to create a more robust framework for criminal justice, ensuring that investigative efforts are timely, effective, and well-coordinated. The visit also highlighted the ongoing dedication of both police forces to innovation, professional development, and regional security
