Uganda’s Director of Criminal Investigations, , has sent a strong warning to corrupt officials and powerful individuals across the country, declaring that no amount of wealth or influence will protect anyone involved in corruption scandals.

The fearless CID boss made the powerful remarks while speaking during the final funeral rites of his late son, Timothy Magambo, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Masindi on Thursday. Despite the emotional moment, Magambo used the occasion to openly speak about one of the biggest assignments given to him by President — fighting corruption in Uganda.

Speaking confidently before mourners, Magambo revealed that his office is determined to investigate and arrest anyone linked to corruption, regardless of their status in society. He stressed that having billions of shillings or connections in government would not stop the law from taking its course.

“I want to assure each of you here that as long as your name appears in a corruption scandal, we shall come for you despite how much billions you have,” Magambo said firmly. He added that his team would not be intimidated by powerful individuals trying to frustrate investigations.

His comments come at a time when he is reportedly involved in investigations linked to former Speaker of Parliament over corruption-related allegations. The CID boss has recently become one of the most talked-about security officials in Uganda because of his tough stance against corruption and political indiscipline.

During another church service held at Mbuya Catholic Church, Magambo also spoke about what he described as growing political indiscipline in the country. He warned that such behavior would soon be addressed by security agencies. According to him, the fight against corruption is being handled jointly with other top security leaders in the country.

Magambo further disclosed that he regularly briefs the Chief of Defence Forces, , as well as President Museveni about the progress of the anti-corruption operations.

Several high-profile Ugandans attended the funeral ceremony, including former URA and UNRA boss . While speaking during the service, Kagina jokingly warned people against becoming “clients” of Magambo at CID headquarters in Kibuli, saying his friendship would not protect anyone involved in corruption.

“We are all good friends to Magambo, but we should avoid becoming his clients at CID Kibuli,” Kagina said, attracting laughter from mourners.

Popular city pastor also paid tribute to the late Timothy Magambo, praising the young man for the legacy he left behind despite dying at only 18 years old. Kayanja encouraged the family to establish a foundation in Timothy’s memory so that his impact could continue inspiring others.

The Inspector General of Police, , assured mourners that the Uganda Police Force would fully support any foundation created in Timothy’s honor.

The emotional send-off attracted several influential people from across Uganda, including judges, ministers, senior security officers, pastors, and prominent businesspeople. However, it was Tom Magambo’s fearless anti-corruption message that dominated discussions, with many Ugandans now waiting to see how far the CID boss will go in his fight against corruption.
