The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has announced new changes to his Cabinet for the 2026–2031 term. The reshuffle has seen key government officials moved to new positions in what is seen as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and improve service delivery.
In the new changes, Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng has been redeployed to serve as the Government Chief Whip. This position is important in managing government business in Parliament and ensuring smooth coordination between lawmakers and the executive.
At the same time, Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba has been appointed as the new Minister for ICT and National Guidance. She will now be responsible for overseeing information technology development and government communication across the country.
The reshuffle is part of ongoing adjustments in government leadership aimed at improving efficiency in key sectors. These changes are expected to help the government strengthen its programs and deliver services more effectively to citizens.
Many observers are now watching closely to see how the newly assigned ministers will perform in their roles as the government begins a new political term.
