Police in Wakiso have arrested a 39-year-old man following a disturbing incident involving the alleged abuse of an 8-year-old girl. The suspect has been identified as Ssebagala Moses, a boda boda rider and resident of Mabombwe village in Mende subcounty, Wakiso district. The incident reportedly took place on April 16, 2026. According to preliminary reports, the young victim was outside with her sister when the suspect approached them. He allegedly gave the children a phone to watch cartoons, a gesture that seemed harmless at first.

However, it is alleged that the suspect then placed the young girl on his lap and committed the offense. The act, which was captured in a video that later spread online, prompted immediate concern from members of the public, who alerted the police. This led to the suspect’s swift arrest before he could evade justice.

The police have strongly condemned the incident, emphasizing that all forms of child abuse are unacceptable and will be dealt with firmly under the law.
