The Uganda Police Force has confirmed that a total of 954 are currently living their life behind bars in several Prisons as the force continues to Intensify operations to crack down Hard Core Criminals in the Kampala Metropolitan area.
While addressing the media during the weekly security briefing at police headquarters in Naguru, Police spokesperson Kitumwa Rusoke says in a period of two weeks, police conducted operation intelligence led in KMP and a total of 1711 criminals were arrested. He adds that 120 criminals were released on police bond pending investigations while 503 were arrested mistakenly and continued before they were set free.
“We are still holding 137 Criminals whom we had earlier arrested in previous operations. We are still verifying their past files and later we shall take them to courts of law for trial,” He revealed saying operations are endless. “We need a crime free City,” he Noted.
