Nation Media Group Uganda has officially announced the resumption of its operations after a period of suspension, bringing relief to its audiences, advertisers and business partners across the country. The company confirmed that its television, radio, print and digital services will return progressively as it completes the necessary operational arrangements.
The announcement follows a decision by the Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to pardon the media house, clearing the way for its operations to resume. The move has been welcomed by many Ugandans who have been waiting for the return of some of the country’s most popular media platforms.
In a statement dated July 28, 2026, Nation Media Group Uganda thanked its audiences, clients and partners for their patience, understanding and continued support during the period when its operations were affected. The company said the loyalty shown by its stakeholders gave it confidence as it prepared to return.
The media company also assured the public that services across all its platforms will be restored in phases. These include NTV Uganda, Spark TV, Daily Monitor, Dembe FM, KFM, The EastAfrican, Nation Courier and Ennyanda, among other brands under the Nation Media Group family.
Nation Media Group said its main focus remains delivering trusted, balanced and professional journalism. The company reaffirmed its commitment to informing, educating and entertaining the public while maintaining high editorial standards across its television, radio, newspaper and digital platforms.
The statement was signed by Joe Muganda, the Chairman of Nation Media Group PLC, who expressed appreciation for the confidence that audiences and business partners have continued to place in the company’s brands despite the interruption in services.
The return of Nation Media Group Uganda is expected to strengthen Uganda’s media industry by restoring one of the country’s leading news organisations. Many viewers, listeners and readers are looking forward to once again accessing news, current affairs, business reports, sports and entertainment content from the company’s various platforms.
The development also marks a significant moment for media operations in Uganda, with many hoping that the reopening will promote cooperation between the media and government institutions while allowing journalists to continue serving the public professionally.
With operations now resuming, Nation Media Group Uganda says it is ready to reconnect with its audiences and continue its mission of providing reliable, balanced and impactful journalism across the country.
