Few Accident Incidents Occurred During First Days Of Festive Season; Says Traffic Police

Must read

As we continue to celebrate the holiday season, Uganda Police is pleased to report that the festive travels have been generally safe across the country. With the dedication and responsibility shown by road users, only a few crashes were registered, marking a significant improvement in road safety during this busy time of year.

However, as the holidays come to a close and many of us prepare for our journey back home, Uganda Police is reminding everyone that the responsibility to stay safe on the roads is still in our hands. Whether you are driving, riding, or walking, safety begins with making the right choices every step of the way.

There are many people waiting for us back home — a mother, a child, a friend. The holidays are meant to be filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories, but it only takes a momentary lapse in judgment for that joy to turn to sorrow. Uganda Police is calling on all road users to avoid risky behaviors, such as speeding, texting while driving, careless overtaking, and driving under the influence of alcohol. These actions, no matter how tempting, are never worth a life.

It’s important to remember that the roads don’t forgive mistakes. One moment of distraction or recklessness could cost a life, and it’s a price no one should ever have to pay. As we head back from our festive celebrations, let’s all commit to making safer choices. Slow down, stay alert, and remember that choosing life over danger is the best decision we can make.

In the spirit of the New Year, let’s keep our journeys meaningful. Let’s arrive home safely so that we can continue to share those precious moments with our loved ones. Let’s make sure that the memories we create this festive season are filled with happiness and not regret. Choose life, choose safety, and make this festive season one to remember for all the right reasons.
