Senior police Chiefs who have spent years without being promoted for several reasons are now crying bucket of tears after selling off their properties and lose millions of shilling to city Conmen for buying ranks Spyreports has learnt.
According to sources from police, officers who lost their money for buying ranks rang for Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP). “We can not mention their names because they know that it’s us who revealed them.
But the truth is they have over stayed from their rank for a long time and recently some officers were seconded for promotions by their seniors and the names are under scrutiny by higher authorities,” Says some police sources adding that several officers reached out to politicians, Ministers, top security chiefs to Robby for their promotions from IGP.
Sources say very many police officers have paid for their promotions. “Few days ago, some officers received calls from unknown people claiming to be from IGP offices and asked them if they wanted to be promoted. Some officers without verifying complied and paid millions to Conmen,” Says another source. He said after they paid money, phones went off and they knew they were Conned. Under cover they went to police and reported the matter of obtaining money by false pretence.
Out of mercey and sympathy investigators managed to arrest some suspects who included Ariho Abubakar, Uthman Bukenya and Kaweesi Dalton who are currently held Jinja road Police Station pending trial in courts of law. However investigators were told not to reveal the complainants particulars because they would also be charged for bribery.
