Fightng FMD, Domestic Animals Vaccination Is Now Compulsory-Government

Government has resolved to immediately source Ten million doses of foot and mouth disease (FMD) Vaccines to anable scaling up of ring vaccination in the affected and neighboring districts at high risk.

The meeting held at state house Entebbe under the chairmanship of H.E. President Yoweri Museveni resolved to  have short, medium and long term solutuions.

Government also approved plans to create a revolving fund to enable procurement of sufficient vaccines priodicallyin the country . The statement released and signed by the Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries Hon. Frank Tumwebaze reads in part.

The government appealed to livestock farmers to appreciate efforts put in place to fight the disease.
