Speeding Lorry Claims Two Lives In Nansana

Two people have been confirmed dead & eight others injured in a fatal road crash at Kawaala Junction in Nabweru, Nansana Municipality.

The crash involved Motor vehicle No. UAQ 539E Mitsubishi Fuso,  Motorcycles No. UFS 111, UEP 598K, UFU 872P all Bajaj Boxers and pedestrians. This took place today on the 28-1-2024 at 12:40pm.

According to the preliminary reports, the driver of the said motor vehicle while at Kawaala Junction from Kazo slopping facing the junction, failed to break and rammed into the said motor cycles and pedestrians killing instantly 02 people, one a passenger on one of the motorcycles and a rider, injuring 08 others who included  pedestrians, riders and passangers on motorcycles.

The injured have been rushed to Mulago for treatment while the bodies have been conveyed to Mulago mortuary for postmortem

CLO- Traffic Police community liasion officer Sp Kananura Michael has comfirmed to spyreports that both motor vehicle and motor cycles have been towed to Nabweru police Station pending inspection

Hadded that investigations into the cause are underway as the hunt for the driver who is on the run is also ongoing.
