PDM SACCO Chairperson Sentenced To One Year Over Mismanagement Of Beneficiaries' Funds

The Lira Chief Magistrates Court has convicted and sentenced Sarah Atim, to one year, 11 months and three weeks in Prison on charges related to the mismanagement of PDM Funds in Lira District.

The accused being a chairperson of Ipito Aweo PDM SACCO in Lira, obtained millions of shillings from thousands of PDM beneficiaries in Lira district in order for them to access their funds.

Atim was arrested by the State House Anti-Graft Unit and arraigned before the Lira Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Obtaining Money by False Pretense.

She obtained money from various chairpersons of PDM groups claiming that she is in charge of the online registration of these groups whereas not.
