In Hot Soup! Top CID Boss Faces Arrest Over Releasing Suspect  Impersonating As SFC  Lt Col, URA Boss.

 A top CID officer has landed himself into trouble and might end arrested after it has been established that he illegally released a suspect who impersonated to be a top officer in SFC at the rank of Lt Col and also a customer's officer at URA. The released suspect has since escaped from the country and is alleged to be leaving in Dubai.

 The troubled CID officer has been identified as SP Acaye Ronald who connived with a CMI Boss Lt Mugenyi Muhammad and illegally released a suspect. Our sources added that both SFC and URA officers had picked interest into the arrested suspect to get more information only to be surprised that he was released and escaped out of the country.

 Pius Mugumya who is said to have fled to Dubai was accussed of impersonating as an officer from URA and working with SFC.
 Story Genesis 
Albert Abimanya imported a pickup truck Vide MG Extender Pick up Model 2021 from Thailand and as he looking for a clearing  Agent before the car could car could arrive, he was approached by one Pius Mugumya who introduced himself to him as a customs officer at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and he told him that he was going to clear the Vehicle before it reaches in Uganda pending physical Verification with URA.

He further assured Abimanya that he had all the potential and also introduced himself as an Special Forces Command (SFC) officer at a rank of Lt. Col. attached to URA customs Commanding all SFC boarder post customs.
He again flashed to him a greenish identification Card for SFC and confirmed to him that the clearance  process should cost him shs 27m which abimanya paid in full but Mugumya did not clear the car to date as he had promised.

This prompted Abimanya to take the matters to Kira Road Police station that arrested and detained Mugunya Pius from where he confessed that he was merely an impostor and neither worked with URA nor been an SFC Commander contrary to his  claims.

Upon detention he was charged with obtaining money by false pretences vide: vide Kira Road CRB 1153/2023.

 Release saga 
On 24th november2023, Abimanya was called to go to the Kira Police  station from where he found Lt. Muhammad Mugenyi who demanded from him to drop the claims and allow the release of the suspect Mugumya Pius.
When abimanya refused, the said Lt. Mugenyi stood up and assaulted him by slapping him twice in his face before the I.O and ordered him to get out and he moved out.

 Abimanya ordered his Lawyers from Imran Advocates and Solicitors to file assault case to Police vide: Kira Road SD 72/27/11/2023 and also wrote to the Director CID Kibuli head seeking for intervention .
