Police Recovers Body of Kidnapped Bugiri Inspector of Schools
Police teams on Tuesday cordoned off the area where David Tenywa Kazungu's body was dumped bringing the two-day search for Buguiri district inspector of schools to an end.
Relatives reported to Bugiri Central Police Station under case reference 43/29/5/2023 after Kazungu went missing on Saturday. According to Busoga East Police Spokesperson, Diana Nandaula, it was discovered that Kazungu, had been kidnapped and his captors demanded a ransom of shillings 50 million.
Nandaula said the deceased was last seen on Saturday at about 11am while driving his vehicle heading to his farm in Nandelema village, Kapyanga Sun County, Bugiri District. A hunt for Kazungu's rescue was launched and on Monday the vehicle was recovered and towed to Bugiri Police Station.
On Tuesday morning, Nandaula said, "a foul smell drew residents to an incomplete pit laterine, where the found the deceased with his legs bound." Kazungu's body was taken to Bugiri Hospital for postmortem.
In the meantime, the deceased was last seen at his farm in Nandelema addressing his casual labourers and police is on the hunt for them to help in investigations however it is alleged that they are no where to be seen.
