Assailants Armed With Guns Burn Four People Dead, In Kamwenge

A joint team of security officials has launched a manhunt for unknown assailants who burnt four people to death and looted a shop on 19th/12/2023 at about  02:00am in Kyitehurizi village, Kyabandara parish, Kamwenge sub county in Kamwenge District.

According to a resident of the area, a one Ayebare Jenasta, the deceased are identified as; Banyazaki Margaret aged 60 years and a resident of the same area, Tugume aged 25 years a Mukiga by tribe, resident of the same area and other two victims not yet identified.

It's alleged that unknown assailants about ten in number armed with SMG rifles attacked and burnt four people dead in Kyitehurizi trading center Kyabandara parish Kamwenge sub county which is near Kibale National park.

Ayebare said, "after burning four people dead, they broke into the store of one Baguma Richard aged 35 years, a Mutoro by tribe and resident of the same area and carried away 300 kgs of beans, one sack of Irish potato, 03 tray of eggs and 50 kgs of maize."

The same assailants burnt a motorcycle reg number UFC 851T. That immediately after the incident they proceeded towards Kibale National park talking in Lufumbira and Rwandese language.

"After receipt of information about the incident we booked out to the scene of crime with canine  together with UPDF Personnel commanded by Col. Nabimanya Saul. Scene of crime cordoned off and we wait to introduce the dog for tracking the assailants who escaped to national park," SP Nditta Nasibu the DPC Kamwenge said.
