Birigwa's Extraordinary Delegate's Conference Drops Amuriat, Nandala from offices

The Forum for Democratic Change FDC Extraordinary National Delegates Conference organized by the Party Chairman, Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa has suspended party president, Engineer Patrick Oboi Amuriat and party Secretary General, Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi.

The National Executive Council made a number of resolutions which were read out to the delegates by FDC spokesperson, Hon Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda at Katonga Road. "I have been directed by the chairman to read for you proposals that you've made in writing that are summarized for you to make a resolution..." Hon Ssemujju told the delegates.

The first proposal was to extend the term of office of FDC leadership and organs by 6 months from October 08/10/2023. 
Put in place an Interim Electoral Commission to organize transparent free ans fair elections. The proposed Commissioners are; Chairman Hon Michael Kabaziguruka, Deputies are; Hon Jack Wamai, Hon Bonny Otyana Ogongson, and Hon Dr Elizabeth Kiwalabye. 
The third proposal is to suspend from leadership of the FDC party; the president, Eng Patrick Oboi Amuriat, Secretary General, Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi and the Treasurer General, Hon Geofrey Ekanya. 
NEC further proposed that their deputies take on the duties of the office, i.e; Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago the Deputy President takes on role of President, Hon Francis Mwijukye as Secretary General and Harold Kaija as Treasurer General respectively. 
NEC proposed to set aside the fraudulent elections organized by Katerebuka Bamwenda. 
NEC ordered to set up a disciplinary committee to expeditiously investigate the suspended leaders. 
NEC further directed to challenge in Courts of Law the illegal October 6th Delegates Conference.
