Court Further Adjourns Case of Driver who Put Judiciary on spot over Little Pay
Buganda Road Magistrates Court has further adjourned the case of the Judiciary driver, Stanley Kisambira who complained about low salary pay to July 24, 2023.
Kisambira appeared in court for hearing of his case in which he his charged with promoting hate speech against judges after he recorded himself claiming that the Shs 235,000 monthly salary he received wasn’t enough to cater for his family needs.
Prosecution told court on Tuesday that investigations into the matter are still ongoing and therefore needed more time. The magistrate adjourned the matter to July 24, 2023.
Court heard that on May 12th, 2023 within Uganda, Kisambira through a computer shared on the Judiciary Transport WhatsApp group information recorded audio which was likely to promote hostility against judges in the Judiciary.
According to the prosecution, Kisambira reportedly indicated that the Judges’ salaries are unfairly over and above those of their drivers and that a driver can decide to cause a road accident by ramming into a moving truck thereby killing the Judges and their bodyguards.
