Driver of Hyundai Bus RAD 795B Drove in a Wrong Side, Traffic Police Speaks out on Ntungamo Accident.

Police through its traffic directorate has attributed the Ntungamo accident to reckless driving caused by the driver of motor vehicle registration number RAD 795B Hyundai Bus belonging to volcano bus company who was driving a wrong side that later made a head on collision with another bus Registration number RAC 704L scania bus belonging to Trinity bus company.

Asp Faridah Nampima the spokesperson for traffic told us that motor vehicle registration number RAD 795B Hyundai Bus which was moving from Ntungamo heading to Kabale kept right when he reached Katinda Bridge and ended up colliding head on with motor vehicle registration number RAC 704L belonging to Trinity Bus Company.

Nampima adds that all the victims were rushed by police to Itojo hospital, Mbarara hospital and doctor's referral hospital in Rubaare for treatment.

An anonymous police officer gave an estimate that around 23 people were injured, as reported by this journalist.

“We had at least 23 people taken to hospital according to ambulance systems but the badly injured are 12. We are fortunate no death has been registered so far,” he said at around 10am on Wednesday.

Some of the injured individuals were transported to Doctor's Referral Hospital in Rubaare Town, while others were taken to Itojo Hospital.
