Museveni Calls CEC  Crisis Meeting Over Detention, More Arrest Of NRM MPs.

President Museveni, who is also the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, has summoned members of the Central Executive Committee for a meeting on Tuesday.

The NNR Central Executive Committee members are still waiting for communication about the venue of this emergency meeting which is convening just a day after three NRM Members of Parliament were detained over corruption-related cases. 

This meeting is called by the president and thought to have intended to have the president collect ideas from CEC members about the arrest of the NRM Lawmakers on corruption allegations.

This follows the detaintion of three legislators yesterday at CID headquartes Kibuli on allegatiosns of corruption and waiting to be charged in the Anti Corruption Court.

The detainees are Parliament’s Legal Committee vice chairperson, Yusuf Mutembuli; Lwengo Woman MP, Cissy Namujju and Busiki County MP, Paul Akamba and spent the night to Kira Road Police.

Three Members of Parliament recorded statements at the Criminal Investigation Directorate headquarters in Kibuli and detained at Kira Road Police as part of a wide investigation into acts of corruption by lawmakers chairing key committees and senior officials at the Ministry of Finance 

However, the Detained MPs have been picked from Kira road Police and taken back to CID headquarter for more grilling where they will be removed and and taken to Anti Corruption court.
