Former Ugandan Archbishop Airlifted to Kampala over Worrying Health Condition.
Former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Henry Luke Orombi, was transported by air to Kampala on the evening of the previous day, following a decline in his health condition that occurred on Monday.
According to Bishop Pons Ozelle of Nebbi Diocese, Emeritus Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi was taken to Nakasero Hospital at 2:00am for specialized medical care, and his wife accompanied him and is currently with him.
Bishop Ozelle stated that Archbishop Orombi was experiencing vomiting and had received first aid treatment to alleviate his discomfort.
“Our God is able. He (Orombi) is so far responding well. He is able to sit, talk now and ask sensible questions. The first thing he asked for was his Bible and reading glasses,” he added.
Following the news of his hospitalization, a number of individuals, predominantly Christians, have been offering prayers for the former Archbishop's recovery. Archbishop Orombi, known for his work in evangelization, has also been a prominent voice in advocating for development in the West Nile Sub-region.
However, as of the time of reporting, neither Archbishop Orombi's family nor the Church of Uganda had disclosed any information regarding the specific illness that he is currently experiencing.
Since his retirement in December 2012, Archbishop Orombi has been residing at his home in Goli, Nebbi District, where he frequently receives visitors for prayers.
Furthermore, the former Archbishop was recently appointed as the second Chancellor of Muni University by President Museveni and has been actively serving in that capacity.
