Three Children From Same Family Drown To Death In Water Dam
The territorial police in Kyankwanzi have registered a case of drowning that has claimed lives of 3 juveniles. The incident happened on 28/08/24 at unknown time in Biroboka Cell, Kyankwanzi Town Council in Kyankwanzi District.
The deceased have been identified as Bambozo Sylvia female juvenile aged 08 yrs old, Mugwanya Alex male juvenile aged 06 yrs old and Namuli Oliva female juvenile aged 03yr old.
All children of Ssekiziyivu Patrick a resident of Biroboka cell, Kyankwanzi district.
It's alleged that about three years ago, Ssekiziyivu Patrick temporarily shifted together with his family from his home located in Buswabwera Village, Byerima Sub County in Kyankwanzi District to Biroboka Cell in the same District to do gardening at the farm of Petero Tumushabe.
On 24/08/2024, Nambozo Noor, the mother to the three deceased children left their home in Byerima village for some domestic chores, leaving the husband with the three children .
On 28/08/2024, the deceased's father left the children(deceased ) and proceeded to Lubiri trading centre in kyankwanzi district to visit a friend leaving them(children) with no caretaker.
Preliminary findings indicate that the father while still at Lubiri trading centre, he got information that his children had drowned to death in a dam found at the farm of Petero Tumushabe, located at Biroboka Cell.
Wamala Region Police Spokesperson Racheal noted that Police ask team has responded to the scene of crime, has been examined and documented.
She however urged Parents and guardians to be vigilant, cautious and desist from leaving their children unattended by an adult even for a short time.
