Government Gives 32 Road Equipment To 16 Newly Created Districts

The government through the ministry of works and transport has distributed road construction equipment to 16 newly created districts in a bid to increase the percentage of District, Urban and Community Access Roads (DUCAR) Network in fair to good condition.

The government  committed to the procurement of additional road construction equipment for the benefit of the 16 newly formed Districts which  include; Nabilatuk, Bugweri, Kassanda, Kwania, Kapelebyong, Kikuube, Obongi, Kazi, Rwampara, Kitageenda, Madi Okollo, Karenga and Lusot.

 Equipment comprising one Motor-Grader and one Wheel Loader were procured and handed over to the respective districts.

The works and Transport Minister General Katumba Wamala noted that, efforts are underway with his ministry for funds to acquire the remaining equipment (1 Vibro roller, 1 water -bowser and 2 tipper trucks).
