NIRA Embarks On Students Registration Exercise, Warns Parents Over Information Falsification

National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) is to conduct a  nationwide registration exercise of all students below and above  16years of age.

The exercise is aimed at enabling all those unregistered students to get National Identification Numbers (NIN) and those that had received NINs and now have turned 16 years to get National IDs.

Osborn Mushabe the Authority's public relations officer told spyreports today in kampala that the exercise is to cover both primary and secondary schools urging parents to provide theeir children with the necessary requirements like the fotocopies of their National Identity cards.

Mushabe has on the other  hand warned parents on falsefying information noting that the vice is against the laws of Uganda.

National IDs and NINs can help students accessing financial servises like openingup banka accounts,aquiring driving permits,accessing education like registration for the National final examinations among others .
