Police Deploys at Makerere University to Foil Protests over Student’s Allowances.

Uganda Police Force has deployed its Anti Riot Police at Makerere University after students marched to the Senate Building, their Administrative Offices, demanding for payment of their allowances.

The students led by their Guild President Robert Maseruka claimed that they had not received their allowances for over 2 months which birthed challenges of poor feeding and accommodation.

Makerere University government sponsored students are entitled to food and living-out allowances which amounts to shs760,000 per semester.
