RDC Muhoozi, Ambassador  Katungwesi Involved In Land Grabbing Saga

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Makindye Ssabagabo Mr Muhoozi Michael and the Uganda's Ambassador in France Frankiline Katungwesi have been accused to be involved in land grabbing scandal, Spyreports has exclusively learnt.

According to information that we have established, the pair is accused of grabbing the land that belong to Mr Mugabi Francis. The land in question is located in Mutungo a posh Kampala surburb and measures approximately 2 acres. 

In an interview with Mr Elvis, Mugabi's son, he says Mr Mugabi bought that land way back and has been there for a long time and they have their land title. "Mr Katungwesi just bought recently and he found us there," he says. He added recently, the family of Ambassador Katungwesi approached them and demanded an access road to his land.
"We told him that there is no access road in our land so you can not force us to give you way to your land," he added.

He said Ambassador Katungwesi rushed to RDC Muhoozi and reported a case against them and they were summoned by RDC.
"During the meeting, we told Ambassador Katungwesi that if he wants access road in our land, he has to either buy it or give us part of his land," reveals Elvis adding that Ambassador Katungwesi said he will opt to buy the way but he will make his final decision after one month, which they also accepted.

He says after one month, they started building in their land. "After we had started building, a team of people claiming they were from RDC's office came and ordered us to stop until we sort our matter with Ambassador Katungwesi," he said adding they declined because they had no issue to sort with Ambassador Katungwesi.
He says they started receiving threats from unknown people saying if they don't give Ambassador the way to his land they will demolish what they constructed.

According to information, it is believed that RDC in connection to Ambassador Katungwesi mobilised some kifesi who attacked and demolished the building of Mr Mugabi and later cut one of his men Hategeka Josephart to near death.
"It was on Sunday 1st at around 1:00am a group of over ten kifesi armed with killing weapons that included pangas, harms, spears attacked our men on the site cut Hategeka to near death and demolished what had been constructed," he says.

He was rushed to hospital where he is still nursing severe wound. They also proceeded to Mutungo police station and opened up the case of attempted murder, malicious damage and criminal trespass under file number SD 03/01/10/23.

The OC Mutungo ASP Kasungu when reached on phone, confirmed the attacked and said investigations are on going. "It is true some unknown people attacked men who were staying on Mr Mugabi's land and were beaten, one Hategeka was cut to near death and some building was demolished," she says adding the assailants are still on the run. She however says the neighborhood say the origin of the matter is the land wrangle between Ambassador Katungukwa and Mr Mugabi. 

When we contacted RDC Muhoozi over the matter he denied being involved in land grabbing matter. How can I grab the land of which I even don't know where it is," he says on phone.
He added that he knows the matter between Ambassador Katungwesi and Mr Mugabi. "The family of Ambassador Katungwesi came to my office and petitioned that someone was building in the access road and I called both parties in my office," he says.

He added that the pair agreed to resolve the matter amicably and they later moved out. RDC says he again got complaint that Mr Mugabi had started constructing in the contested land and he sent his team to stop the construction until they resolve the matter.

He added that recently he was informed that assailants went and demolished the building and cut one of the workers to near death.
"When that scenario happened, we went back on the land and investigations are going on," he says. He added that the neutral survayor will come on the land and measure again. "He was suppose to come on Monday but since its a public holiday, he will come on Tuesday.
