Six Children In A Family Perish In Fire Outbreak  Along Entebbe Road

Six children aged between 2 and 16 years have lost  thier lives following a tragic fire outbreak in Mulanda B, Kisubi along Entebbe road. police report has confirmed.

 The incident took place today, May 15, 2024, at approximately 1 AM .

The fire had engulfed the residence of Bakita Ayang, a South Sudanese national, where six children were trapped.

 Despite efforts by community members to rescue them, the children, aged between 2 and 16,.

The Kisubi Police Station dispatched officers to the scene, along with firefighters from Entebbe Police Division.

The fire was eventually extinguished, and the bodies of the children were recovered and taken to the city mortuary for postmortem examinations.

Initial observations suggest that the fire originated from an electronic kettle left unattended in the sitting room, connected to a socket.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police said that further inquiries will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the fire.

 Police have urged the public to exercise caution and vigilance to prevent such tragedies in the future.
