Social Media Likes Lands Students Into Trouble

Police in Kampala have arrested two suspects over hacking and receiving stolen mobile phones.

This followed a viral video clip on social media of these two unknown men bragging about how they receive,retain , change serial numbers, hack into cloud accounts and changing spare parts of stolen phones in Kampala.

Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan Police Spokesperson has informed Spy reports that police have today arrested Goma Savior a student at Uganda Instute of Information and Communication Technology in Nakawa offering National Certificate of Information and Communication on registration number 2023/NCICT/BAYN/2056.

Guma was arrested together with his friend who was capturing the video.

He said, upon arresting them were found with two mobile phones, Laptop and one flash disk and when were Interrogating, they confessed that they made the video to to get more likes on social media especially on TikTok.

Onyanga emphasized that although these suspects were just making the video for more likes, they will be charged with several counts like Computer missuse, becoming publics nusence among others to serve as an example for other who may wish to do the same.
