Socialite Acram, Husband to Widow of late Sheikh Muzaata Arrested for Attempted Rape/Murder

Detectives at Katwe Division Police have in custody a socialite Tugumisiriza Acram, the husband to widow of late Sheikh Muzaata arrested for attempted rape and attempted murder.
According to detectives, the complainant Mwinzi Remy earlier this week met the suspect in one of the Kampala suburbs. The suspect apparently showed interest in Mwinzi and started and intimate conversation. “When I met Acram I was excited to talk to him because of his status as a socialite. He showed interest in having intimacy with me and decided to take me to a hangout.” Mwinzy Remmy said.
Towards dusk, they retracted to the suspect’s home to refresh. "While there he started his sexual advances towards me which I found inappropriate. I questioned why he would want intercourse with me and yet we had not tested for HIV/AIDS," she said.
The suspect according to the victim got test kits and the results showed that they were both negative. It is alleged that after the testing, Acram continued his sexual advances this time aggressively.

Mwinzy tried to reject the advances by suggesting that she was undergoing her menstrual periods but in vain. “I am menstruating, we cannot indulge in sexual intercourse, may be romance,” she said.
According to the victim, the suspect got out a panga and told Mwinza that she either succumbed to his desire or face death. The latter picked her phone to call for help from the OC who fortunately came immediately to her rescue. The OC asked the victim to record a statement at the police station which she did. Acram was asked to appear at the station which he failed to do and detectives were forced to hunt for him until he was apprehended. A charge of attempted rape and attempted murder has been filed against the suspect vide SD Ref 15/10/10/2023 Katwe Police Station.
