The Chief Justice Has Deployed and Appointed 42 Judicial Officers.

The Chief Justice of Uganda, HW, Hon Alfonso Owiny Chigamoy - Dollo has appointed 42 new Judicial Officers who've been deployed in various parts of the country.

The new officers all appointed in Acting capacity include; 14 Deputy Registrars, 8 Assistant Registrars, and 20 Chief Magistrates. The appointments bring the number of Deputy Registrars to 43, Assisant Registrars to 19 and Chief Magistrates to 91.

The deployments have had a direct impact on the case disposal there has been a tremendous improvement in the performance of the courts in terms of determination of cases especially at the Magistrate level.

"Ever since the Judiciary unveiled its transformation agenda and developed the Judiciary Strategic Plan V, to facilitate the realization of the said agenda, the new developments will go a long way in attaining the Institution's core mission of efficiently and effectively administering Justice," the Chief Justice said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Registrar, HW, Sarah Lango Siu observed that in addition to expanding the coverage of the Judiciary and taking justice closer to the people, the deployments and transfers were also informed by caseloads and enhanced efforts to eliminate case backlog.
