UBOS Launches Nine- Days Training Of Census Officers.
Uganda Beaural of Statistics (UBOS) has started training District Census Officers at speke resort Hotel Munyonyi.
While Launching the training, the Executive Director UBOS Dr Chris Mukiza has implored the trainees to use this opportunity to learn and understand the different concepts and definitions which will enable them do their work.
The training of District Census Officers, Assistant District Census Officers, District IT officers and District Technical officers which has commenced today (4th April 2024) at Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo will last fro nine days.
Dr Mukisa said that these are being trained by selected UBOS staff and representatives from MDAs who underwent a comprehensive five-days Training of Trainers (ToT) exercise, conducted at Statistcis House .
The trainees from Munyonyo will thereafter conduct a nine-days training of Sub-county supervisors at the District followed by the final nine-days training of enumerators and Parish supervisors.
Dr Mukiza however has asked these representatives of the district commission to ensure supervision of the training activities within their respective areas of jurisdiction.
Population census 2024 will start on Friday 10th to Sunday 19th may 2024.
After every 10 years, Uganda holds a national census and the last one was carried out in 2014.
