2 Land Grabbers Charged with Assault in Court, Remanded

Luwero Chief Magistrates Court has charged two land grabbers with assault occassioning actual bodily harm to residents of Manyama Village, Zirobwe Sub County in Luwero District.

The State House Anti Corruption Unit working with Uganda Police Force arraigned the 2 suspects; Baguma Obed and Kakuru James and were remanded till 25/10/23.

Court heard that the duo working for a notorious land grabber Rutangambwa and others still on the run, have for many years been terrorizing over 3000 residents of Manyama and Budima villages so as to force them off their ancestral land. 

"Runtagambwa has been hiring goons from different parts of the country to commit henious crimes and excessive violence on the residents," prosecution said.

The Minister of Lands, Hon. Judith Nabakooba had earlier visited the villages and requested the Unit to commence investigations into the matter.
