Suspected Murderer Arrested in Mubende

Police in Mubende have in custody a suspect in connection with a murder case that occurred on September 19, 2023, at around 6pm in Kalo Kalungi Central Village, Lubimbiri Sub-county, Mubende District.

Police identified the victim as Kabafuruki Provence, a 50-year-old Mukiga peasant and the suspect, as Nahwera Joselyn, a 30-year-old Munyankole peasant, both residents in the same rental houses recently in Ssendegeya at Kalokalungi Village in Mubende District.

The deceased had suspicions about Nahwera's romantic involvement with her friend Kashari Julius. On September 19, 2023, at approximately 6pm, the deceased armed herself with a machete and confronted the suspect at her residence. The suspect also armed herself with a machete, resulting in a violent altercation that led to the deceased sustaining deep cuts on her hand, palm, and neck. Tragically, the deceased succumbed to her injuries and bled to death at the doorstep of the suspect.

SP Kawala Racheal PRO, Wamala Region said, "the suspect was assaulted by angry residents but was rescued by the police and is currently undergoing medical treatment at a clinic in Lubimbiri Trading Centre."

"The crime scene has been thoroughly examined and documented, with two machetes recovered as evidence. The victim's body has been transported to Mubende Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination, and the investigation is ongoing," Kawala added.
