34 Year Old Woman Electrocuted to Death

Detectives in Kamuli District have launched investigations into the death by electrocution of a 34 year old woman.

The deceased has been identified as Naigaga Elizabeth, resident of Itukulu - Busabo, Bupadhengo parish, Nawanyago Subcounty in Kamuli district. 

According to the Police report, on Wednesday 25/10/2023 around 07:30am, at Itukulu Busabo, one of the residents and relative to the deceased identified as Nabirye Joyce was in the garden when she got in contact with a live illegally connected power line. Upon calling for help Naigaga responded and in the process of rescuing Nabirye,  she was electrocuted.

A report was made vide SD 43/25/10/2023 at Kamuli CPS. The scene was visted by a team of detectives and UMEME staff.  The illegally connected power was disconnected. Body taken to the mortuary for postmortem, pending further inquiries. 

"We have began a man hunt of 6 suspects on the run. Their particulars have been withheld. We caution the members of the public against illegal electricity connections as they pose danger to public safety," said ASP Kasadha Micheal the Regional spokesperson, Busoga North.
