Beating Festive Season Traffic Congestion, Police Provides Alternative Routes

The Uganda traffic police has advised motorists to use alternative routes during this feastive season so as to avoid spending long hours in their journeys

The Traffic Police spokesperson Micheal Kanaura advised that to alleviate heavy traffic congestion on major routes as people travel upcountry for the festive season, motorists are advised to consider the following alternative routes:

For those taking the Western Route (Kampala to Western Uganda) - Use Nakawuka – Kasanje - Mpigi route to bypass traffic congestion. - Alternatively, use Buloba and connect to Mpigi.

Eastern Route (Kampala to Eastern Uganda) - Use Wantoni in Mukono to Kisoga through Nyenga to connect to Jinja. Avoid using the main route due to ongoing construction if possible.

"The alternative routes are suitable for light vehicles, as heavy vehicles are advised to use the main routes to minimize congestion. By following these guidelines, we aim to reduce traffic congestion and ensure a smoother journey for all motorists during the festive season".Added Kananura.
