Carry Your Valid Driver's Budge Or Serve 7 Years In Jail- Police Warn Errant Bus Drivers

 The Directorate of Traffic and Road safety has issued a strong warning for errant bus drivers who drive without their valid budges that they are risking to spend seven years in jail.

 The warning was issued by Promoted Traffic boss Assistant Inspector General of Police( AIGP) Lawrence Nuwabiine.

In his warning issued by PRO Traffic Michael Kanaura he said "The Directorate of Traffic and Road safety hereby reminds all bus drivers that possession of driver's budge issued by Chief Licensing Officer Ministry of works and Transport is Mandatory as stipulated in section 42(1)(e) of the traffic and Road safety act.(CAP.347) reads part of the tough warning message.

 The traffic boss further says failure to comply with this requirement constitutes an offence and punishable for serving seven years in jail upon conviction as stipulated in section 42(2) of the traffic and Road safety.

 " All bus drivers are hereby directed to pick their from the Ministry of works and transport," Orders Traffic Boss AIGP Lawrence Nuwabiine.

He added that those budges are are issued at a free cost.

"All bus drivers must possess a valid budge to proceed with passengers at any check point," Orders Nuwabiine adding that any driver without a valid budge will be charged and taken to court.
