City Robbers Attack Catholic Priests, Robs Money Inside Church.

City robbers attacked Catholic priests in the early hours of Sunday, 20th March 2023, at Nswanjere Junior seminary school in Muduma sub-county, Mpigi District.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, the assailants reportedly cut the barbed wires fencing the school, allowing them access to the premises.

Once inside, they ransacked the school and made off with various items, including a TV, mobile phones, cash, a laptop, and the church Tabernacle.

During the ordeal, Fr. Kyeyune Godfrey, the Vice Rector at Nswanjere Junior seminary, was beaten and injured on his left hand. Fr. Emmanuel Mukukule was also beaten and injured on the head and is currently receiving treatment at Lubaga hospital. Rev. Fr. John Bosco Kigundu and Bro. John Bosco Mwasa were also robbed of cash and mobile phones.

The Wakiso Police team visited the scene and collected evidence, including an exhibit of a grey bag containing coins amounting to four thousand shillings, which was found a few meters from the crime scene. Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses.

Currently, the suspects are still at large, and the police are conducting inquiries to apprehend them.

The Police have assured the public that they will do everything within their power to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of the residents in the area.

Owoyesigire has said that this incident should serve as a reminder to the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police promptly.
