Disregard Fake Post with UDC Logo on Grant Opportunities

Uganda Development Corporation UDC, a government agency mandated to promote and facilitate industrial and economic development of Uganda through establishment of sustainable investments in areas strategic to Uganda’s social and economic transformation, has pronounced as fake statements making rounds on social media about the corporation offering grant opportunities.

In a press statement issued on 02 November 2023, UDC states that, "We would like to categorically state that UDC has not made any call for grants neither does the Corporation give grants and has thus not put out a call for application for such a grant. This call is thus fake and a falsehood."

The statement further reads, "It has come to our attention that there is fake information being circulated on social media purporting that the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) is calling people to apply for a Household Grant."

The public is informed that all information from UDC is shared via official social platforms, that is, X: @udc_uganda, LinkedIn: Uganda Development Corporation, Instagram: uganda_development_corporation, YouTube: Uganda Development Corporation and Website www.udc.go.ug. "We thus implore you to follow us and only get authentic UDC communication from the above platforms," Denis Dokoria the UDC spokesperson said.
